Hakan Ozyilmaz

Associate Director of Impact Evaluation, Initiative for Financial Decision-Making

Hakan Ozyilmaz is the Associate Director of Impact Evaluation for the Initiative for Financial Decision-Making (IFDM) at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Before joining IFDM, Hakan was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research lies at the intersection of household finance, behavioral and experimental economics. Hakan's work combines experimgsbental methods, field studies, and behavioral theory to investigate topics including financial education, consumer financial behavior, technology adoption, and the use of artificial intelligence in personal finance. His research aims to identify barriers that prevent individuals from making effective financial decisions and to develop interventions that improve financial capability at scale.
